System used for the 9 GHz record with Safedisk (left) and Shamino (right)

Together with the Asus overclocking team, Skatterbencher and Intel we managed to reach a new technology milestone of the first ever commercial processor to reach 9 GHz operating frequency. The result was done with an Intel Core i9-13900K “Raptor Lake” processor using an Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Apex motherboard. It was cooled with an ElmorLabs Volcano CPU LN2 container with liquid helium refrigerant down to -250 °C measured with an ElmorLabs KTH-USB thermometer. The CPU Core Voltage was increased to 1.84V in order to reach the final 9008.82 MHz. We’d like to thank everyone involved in achieving this record for their effort and support in order to make this dream possible!
